Review : Very nice subwoofer.
I bought this sub to replace the one that came with my Onkyo HT-S5300 HTIB system. I knew when I purchased the Onkyo system that the sub that came with that one was gonna be sub-standard. It is extremely boomy and the overall bass response is very muddy. If you listen to a movie such as Independence Day or 2012, you can forget about being able to truly enjoy the thrill of what those movies have to offer. It sounded like the woofer itself was going to come out of the box. During the scene in Independence Day when the aliens let loose the laser beam and destroy the Empire State Building, I thought the sub was gonna blow. I then played Independence Day with the BIC PL-200 sub and boy was I blown out of the water. As soon as they shot the laser out, I could not only hear the difference, but my best friend who lives next door called me up and asked if my house blew up. I also enjoy a lot of heavy metal from Slayer to Megadeth to Soulfly and let me tell you that this thing slams with...
