These JBL Studio 530 Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Pair, Black) way out perform some other brand including major brands and department store brands. The major selling points for me personally are hight quality with low price.
The most advanced JBL residential loudspeaker systems, including Everest DD66000, K2 and Project Array, share one key design characteristic with the massive JBL Professional systems you hear in premier movie houses and concert venues. All employ constant-directivity compression drivers in a horn to deliver the high-impact dynamics and dimensional realism that large audiences and critical listeners demand. Now JBL Studio 5 Series speakers, designed by renowned JBL chief engineer Greg Timbers, continue this performance-proven tradition. The JBL Studio 530 bookshelf loudspeaker combines a 1-Inch (25mm) HF compression driver and Bi-Radial horn with 5-1/4-Inch (130mm) cast-frame Symmetrical Field Geometry (SFG) woofer to deliver extraordinarily lifelike performance. Ideal for both music and movie systems, the Studio 530 system is powerful, accurate and styled to make a dramatic design statement in any listening environment.

Review : JBL Studio 530 New look and Bold Dynamic Sound
I bought these from an online merchant before they were available from Amazon. Since they were just released by JBL for purchase, I bought them unseen and unheard. However I have had prior great experience with JBL speakers, so after having read two great reviews online at WHATHI-FI and High Fidelity Magazine, I decided to just jump all in. After enjoying these speakers for many weeks now, I thought I would post a few comments here on Amazon.
First off, these are very articulate and dynamic sounding speakers, much more so than other bookshelf speakers I have owned in the past, ( including Bose 301's, B&W 685's, and JBL Studio L830's). All of these speakers were quite special, and each presented music in a very rewarding way. But the new Studio 530 is a much more entertaining loudspeaker, which truly brings music to life. These new JBL's are not the typical cone and dome loudspeaker. The high frequencies are reproduced through a JBL designed horn, which sounds very smooth and much...
I believe, explains the few gripe regards JBL Studio 530 Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Pair, Black) not fitting or leaking.
Hope this JBL Studio 530 Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Pair, Black) review was usefull!
