I'm very satisfied with the sound and functionality of the Definitive sub. The bass is bone-rattling and will shake your whole house, but it is very clean sounding with no vibration in the case itself. I've got it connected with a single Monster subwoofer cable to my Onkyo receiver. Very easy setup. The appearance is very elegant. I like the volume control on the side. The Prosub 800 is perfect for a small living room.
The only gripe I have is that it has an auto-off feature. If the sub doesn't receive a bass signal after about an hour, it shuts off. So when I'm watching a TV program or movie with lots of dialogue it will shut off and then pop back on (with a noticeable popping sound) when there is either an explosion or loud music. It is a small gripe because you never have to worry about leaving it on accidentally.
Listening to music is a dream with this sub. I'm in to rock and heavy metal, so this sub makes it seem as though a machine gun is going...
I believe, explains the few gripe respecting Definitive Technology ProSub 800 120v Speaker (Single, Black) not fitting or leaking.
