Recently bought these for $220 a piece. The sound that comes out of these is amazing even under my low powered amp (Onkyo 50W a channel) . The bass extension is great and for music no sub is really needed and I think a sub would sound unnatural for music. The clarity is exceptional and as good as anything I have heard . These things are very tall so check the specs and make sure they are not too tall for your setup. These are also pretty heavy with 4 6 and half inch speakers in them. Really nice looking in the cherry finish. For the money these baby's are hard to beat. Don't think twice , buy these and sit back and crank the tunes and hear things you have never heard before in your records, cd's or HD radio.
