I have now been buying Atlantic Technology SB-900-BLK 8" Front-Firing Powered Subwoofer, 125-Watt (Single, Black) for yesteryear almost 1 year. Atlantic Technology SB-900-BLK 8" Front-Firing Powered Subwoofer, 125-Watt (Single, Black) wuth brand "Atlantic Technology" may be the best Subwoofers on the market.

My family is a music family! Although I used to be an audiophile years ago, lately I keep things simple and have downsized my DCM speakers to some smaller Martin Logan bookshelf speakers and overall have downsized and eliminated components. This subwoofer surprisingly puts out a very nice bass. It can be heard throughout the house (and I suspect outside as well). My kids really enjoy the sub and it's given so much depth and feeling to the music we listen too. For the size, I'm happy with the sound quality, but feel that nothing can really outdo the old school GIANT Cerwin Vega subs, they're so big, so clean sounding, and do a great job of filling the room with bass without overpowering (or it can overpower, your choice!!) This Atlantic Technology sub is placed behind a chair near the TV and it's unobtrusive yet produces the bass we were looking for while not impacting the design of the room. If that is what you are looking for, this is a good product at a good price.
