JBL recommends installing the speaker at approximately the same height as the listener's ears for best results. The speaker also includes integrated dog-ear brackets for retrofit applications and a template/paint shield that can be used to make the initial cutout or protect the speakers when applying a new paint color to the frame (the speakers come in white). I DID NOT BUY THESE FROM AMAZON BUT I GOT THEM FOR THE SAME PRICE. I USE THEM FOR MY REAR SPAEKERS IN A 5.1 SYSTEM.
THEY ARE BEING PUSHED BY A LOW END SONY HEAD UNIT AND THEY SOUND GREAT. I HAD A SET OF BOSE BOOKSELFS AS REARS PRIOR TO THE JBLS. THESE BLOW THEM AWAY. THE INSTALL IN THE WALL WAS A JOKE THEY USE A GREAT CLIP SYSTEM THAT IS DUMMY PROOF, JUST USE THE TEMPLETE SUPPLIED AND SNAKE YOUR WIRE IN THE WALL AND AWAY YOU GO. LOOK GREAT IN THE WALL NICE AND FLUSH AND OUT OF THE WAY.
I WILL BE BUYING MORE FOR THE DINING ROOM AND KITCHEN FOR REGULAR AUDIO.
