I bought these in black from the EMP-Tek website after researching the web for a sub $1000 pair of tower speakers. Audioholics love of these speakers had a lot to do with me taking the plunge. When they came in stock at $100 discount I bit. They arrived within 5 days of order. They are double boxed. The packing material is impressive. It is unlikely they could be damaged without considerable abuse by the freight company. Inside the second container is a healthy amount of foam and two bags protecting the speakers and the finish. They look expensive. When I move into my new house these will be the centerpiece of my home theater. More to follow once that is all set up. I've seen these referred to as "white box" speakers. On the contrary. These blow away any of the crap I've seen at Best Buy or anywhere else. In this price point they are in a class of their own.
I think, explains the few gripe on EMP Tek E55TiR Tower Speakers not fitting or leaking.
