Review : MDF is fine.
Everyone uses MDF now. It's because it doesn't resonate like plywood. The cost difference between MDF and plywood is not that great... especially the 1" thick MDF used in the La Scala speakers. Plus, MDF is harder on tooling... sparks fly from carbide blades when you're cutting it... that's the carbide coming off your blade. THEREFORE, unless you're moving the speakers a lot (using them in different venues), MDF is the way to go. It's sonically "dead" compared to resonant plywood. The use of MDF is a choice made not to cut costs -- obviously, Klipsch Heritage speakers are not cheap anyway... and the main cost is in labor, tooling, and components. The choice is made because MDF sounds better. Ferraris come with carbon fiber bodies... and some might say "that's plastic," but they didn't choose it because it was cheaper than stamped steel. The same concept applies here, IMO.

I believe, explains the few complaints regards Klipsch Cornwall III - Black not fitting or leaking.

Hope this Klipsch Cornwall III - Black comment was usefull!
