Review : Fair sound, excellent convenience
I just received this system and gave it a try.
The good: Exceptional convenience. From the included laptop-style case to playing sound from my laptop in under 2 minutes. Now that I'm familiar with the controls and have set the input levels, I expect routine setup to take a minute or less. The included case is a nice touch, and includes a pouch for cables. The sound seems to penetrate evenly through a room, and is amply loud for a good-sized group, however an audience of 100 might be overly ambitious for this product. At higher levels it seems to be relatively distortion-free.
The bad: The sound quality is only fair, less pleasing than a set of Logitech PC speakers with a subwoofer which I've been using for years. My bride made the observation that the GoSpeak sounds better as it's turned up louder. That could be a problem for presentations to small groups. The user's manual is minimal, and doesn't even explain the ALC control. I presume it to be...
I think, explains the few gripe on GoSpeak! Pro Portable Presentation Speaker and Amplification System not fitting or leaking.
