I have only been using the, Polk DSW Pro 440 wi, for a week, but so far it has met, or exceeded, my expectations in all regards.
It is used in a room, 14 x 20ft, and delivers very deep base, rumbling accurately when movie soundtracks call for that, and plays tight, refined bass notes when listening to music selections. All of this from an 8 inch driver and the slotted base design that Polk engineers seemed to nail down, perfectly. I'm no engineer, just an end user, but this subwoofer fits the requirements that were necessary for our setup. And that setup required the smallest footprint, space saving design, at an affordable price. I didn't want to have a "huge" black box taking up space in our relatively smallish room.
Though the, Polk DSW Pro 440 wi, can be used wirelessly, via an expensive add on unit, I have it connected to the AV receiver with a single RCA cable. Remember, that even if you want to use this subwoofer wirelessly, you still have to plug it...
I think, explains the few gripe respecting Polk DSW PRO 440 WI Subwoofer not fitting or leaking.
