Review : the sub
I have two of the Earthquake MKV-15 subwoofers. One is paired with vintage Polk Audio SDA-SRS in my master bedroom. Although the SDA's have eight 6.5" inch drivers and a 15" passive radiator, the MKV-15 makes them sound like they are "bookshelf" speakers in the bass department. The other 15 is in my living room paired with a set of Klipschorns. Once again, the Klipschorns are no comparison (15" driver in folded horn design). This subwoofer is positively not in the same league as commercialized garbage (aka new Klipsch or Polk Audio subs at Fry's). If you're like me and want to hear a concert in your home at concert levels, this is your subwoofer! Be advised that I am using vintage Klipsch which are highly efficient speakers (101db 1w/1m) otherwise the MKV-15 would be overkill. You Tube might have a video or two of the SLAPS passive radiator in action. Four stars due to it's high price.
