I've been using the Yamaha Stagepas 500 for little over a year and am impressed with the performance. I use it in a very large hall and it fills the room perfectly. Because it tends to be directional you can focus the sound exactly where you want making it possible for people to talk out to the sides of the speakers. It's performances in my salsa classes gives me a clean and accurate, efficient, reproduction without the sloppy booming of a non-directional speaker. It is also very effective outdoors with the same feature of directional sound. I point it where I want it and don't get complaints from the neighbors in a three block radius. It's simple to use and will work with tape player, CD player, Ipod and anything that you have standard plug-ins for. It can used as a PA system with plug-ins for instruments. A professional DJ commented on the performance of the Yamaha Stagepas 500 with both thumbs up. What's not to like?
