The Mirage S8 is the perfect size for a mid-range 7.1 system. Sounds great with the other mirage speakers and gives a controllable thump to music and movies alike. The needle point legs are a little difficult to line up with the hardwood pads it comes with and restrict fine tuning movements around the room by making it harder to do, but it does come with pads for legs if you prefer. I have this sub in a pretty large room and you can definitely 'feel' the power when called upon. What's nice, though, is that if you want to make it a little more subtle of a thump, the manual controls on the back are easy to use if you don't want to futz with the receiver output.
