Review : KILLER Center Channel Speaker!!!
Ok, I know what you may be thinking...$1,200 for a center channel speaker seems pretty steep!! WELL, I certainly thought so as well but knowing that Polk Audio makes AMAZING speakers I took the plunge and got this big boy over the smaller LSiM704 model. The verdict???? SO HAPPY I went with the 706C!!!
I am using an Emotiva XPA-3 external power amp to drive the speaker and using the pre-amp outputs from a Denon AVR-3313ci receiver. This center channel speaker sounds great at all volume levels BUT REALLY comes to LIFE when you crank it up with a Blu-ray movie! It can not only handle serious volume/power but it does so with crystal clear clarity and no audible strain whatsoever. I dare you to put in the original Matrix and watch the infamous "lobby" scene where Trinity and Neo engage in their colossal gun fight and push the volume as hard as you can. This speaker can handle it with ease!!
I must also mention that it is not only the heavy duty action movies...
I believe, explains the few complaints about Polk Audio LSiM706C Center Channel Loudspeaker - Midnight Mahogany - Each not fitting or leaking.
