Review : Good, but not great
Sound is good - bass and treble similar to other sets I have had in the past. It would have cost the company nothing to make the speaker wires two feet longer. As such one cannot place the speakers more than several inches from the main unit. Splicing new wire onto the speaker wires is easy enough, but I shouldn't have to do this. It cost $299, but the only difference I have found so far from the $177 unit is that it has jacks for headphones. For the price the cassette player should also record. For my location, the wire that serves as an FM antenna works fine. The tiny remote is hard to read and it is too easy to push the wrong buttons. I can only work it when a strong light is on it and I have to look close to see what I am doing. Yet , this seems to be the best set available. 20 years ago I bought several sets by different brands that were wonderful with great sound, full size remotes, cassette recorders, etc for only $200.
