These Canton Plus XS.2 Two-Way Minispeaker (Pair, Black) way out perform any other brand including major brands and department store brands. The major selling points for me personally are hight quality with cheap price.
Canton's Plus XS.2 is a two-way minispeaker. Able to handle up to 90 watts, each speaker houses a coaxially mounted 4-inch aluminum woofer and 1-inch aluminum tweeter. The Plus XS.2 is compatible with Canton's LS 80 and 80.1 loudspeaker stands as well as the Cantomount mounting bracket.

I got lucky and found these on clearance at a camera store that had bought another camera store that sold other electronics. I got these along with a passive sub for $100. Score! I patiently waited for the Canton center channel that's designed to go with these to show up on ebay and then ran all inline with my powered Monitor sub. The result is stunning.
The speakers produce an amazingly rich sound from such a small enclosure. What's unique about these is that they're actually two-way. The metal tweeter floats above the woofer, allowing for the smaller size like in some car speakers.
These are great for smaller rooms or for the design-minded individual that wants a high-quality sound. To get the full effect of what these speakers can do, you should have a good amplifier. I've got an Outlaw Audio that drives them beautifully. If you're new to the world of audio, it's not necessarily about watts as much is it is about clean power.
