I had the pleasure of first hearing these at RMAF '12 as a motivated buyer, so I have no problems comparing their sound favorably against speakers of similar driver size/configuration that cost three to five times as much (Sonus-Faber Venere & Dynaudio Xeo.)
From a practical standpoint, this is a very modern and well-engineered product: There are connectivity options for nearly every application but the wiring is simple and clean, the cabinets are solidly built, resonance-free, and the electronics are well-matched to the drivers--in an appropriately-sized room with a quality source, they will become too loud well before you hear any appreciable distortion.
As-delivered, these are excellent and versatile powered speakers--I purchased them as replacements to Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers, and as an added bonus was also able to get away from the noisy on-board sound and add-on cards of my PC. In practice, I find their performance balanced and pleasing. Highs & mids are...
